Heirloom Furniture Quality Catalyzed finish
At Gemstone Cabinetry, we pride ourselves in offering a comprehensive finish selection that is as durable as it is beautiful. All jobs are built and finished to order. Each piece is meticulously selected for grain and natural wood color, making doors and other components blend in harmony. After machining and assembly of components, parts are machine sanded for a consistent texture. After rigorous sanding and quality control inspections, parts are finished to your job specification using a multi-step wood conditioning and staining procedure where color is evenly applied. Parts are then sealed, filling the grains to prepare for secondary finish sanding. A final layer of catalyzed conversion varnish protective topcoat is then applied for a smooth, furniture-like finish that will stand up to demanding use in today's modern household environments. In addition, we offer finish effects such as distressing, wear sanding, antiquing, weathered grain, and heirloom collection.
Full Access, Full Overlay Frameless Design
By engineering our cabinets without face frames, the openings are unrestricted and as wide as possible, allowing more storage space and easier access. Inside depth and width are also larger while maintaining the same outside dimensions. Case components are 3/4" thick, opposed to typical 1/2" for framed cabinets.
American Made Plywood Case Construction
Gemstone Cabinetry is manufactured from 3/4" plywood with interior finish choices in clear maple wood veneer, white or grey... no Chinese import plywood or pressboard here.
Veneered plywoods are coated with an ultraviolet light cured finish for durability and uniformity, while white and grey interiors feature high pressure laminated faces for superior wear resistance. Cases feature dowel construction where parts are joined together, a proven and reliable joinery for decades. All plywood and quality construction joinery means decades of dependable quality are engineered into every cabinet.
Solid Dovetailed Drawers with Full Extension Travel and Soft Close
All Gemstone Cabinetry drawers and rollouts are made from solid hardwood, and utilize traditional dovetail construction. Dovetails are commonly associated with traditional wood joinery that dates back hundreds of years. Our use of dovetails pays homage to the longevity and superiority of this method of joining solid wood pieces. Dovetail joints provide strength and durability while allowing the wood to expand and contract when necessary, keeping the joint tight and solid.
Drawer slides are concealed from view under the drawer box. All drawers feature full extension travel so no more lost items in the rear of the drawer. All slides and hinges are also soft closing, eliminating unnecessary noise and shifting contents.
Solid birch dovetailed drawers are standard. Blum Legrabox steel drawers are optional. All drawers are full extension, soft-closing.

Solid hardwood frame and panel doors. Slab doors are laminated MDF core, eliminating common expansion and contraction, warping, and splitting.
Blum 6-way adjustable concealed, soft closing European hinges.
3/4" frameless design allows full access and greater storage area. Clear UV Maple veneer interior is standard with optional white or grey laminate; always plywood core.
Catalyzed conversion varnish solid wood and wood veneer finishes provide superior durability. Over 100 synthetic laminate finishes also available.
